David Parker – Head of Prison Law

David Parker is the Head of our Prison Law Department which is recognised as the largest and most innovative in England and Wales.

David has more than 20 years experience in Prison Law and Criminal Defence work and is widely acknowledged to be one of the most dynamic and knowledgeable in his field.  Whilst supervising and overseeing the training of a thriving busy team, David specialises in the representation of all types of indeterminate sentenced prisoners before Judicially Chaired tribunals of the Parole Board of England and Wales.

Having held a seat upon the Executive Committee of the Association of Prison Lawyers, and being a member of the Howard League for Penal Reform, David is a regular commentator in Prison newspapers and sought out for opinion by various media.

A career spanning to 1996 has seen David attain Police Station accreditation, qualification as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and Admission to the Roll of Solicitors.

His experience includes the representation of many Clients of high profile, some of which have attracted intense media attention and complex of issues of non-disclosure.  His representation secured the acquittal at trial in the largest national Prison disturbance of its kind.
